The program objective is to provide an in-town soccer program where basic soccer skills are introduced (passing, shooting, dribbling) in a station's based format. This program meets Saturday mornings for 1 hour.
Team Size / Formation: Program is structured through skill stations. Players are placed in groups of 10-12 players with an activity leader for the full hour of practice. Groups will change and players may have a different activity leader every week.
Practices / Games: Program meets one hour a week on Saturday mornings at St. Mark's Church Field. Fall program runs for 8 weeks, typically beginning the first Saturday after labor day. Spring program runs for 8 weeks, typically beginning the second Saturday in April. Program start dates can vary depending on many factors, including the weather.
Equipment: Players should purchase cleats and shin pads: shin pads should be covered by socks. Bring a water bottle for each practice. Team shirt is provided.
Coaches: This program is run by a Coordinator and Parent Activity Leaders (volunteers) and/or H.S. Varsity Players.
Each volunteer needs to be registered through the town program, complete all required safety trainings assigned by the SYS Registrar and pass a CORI check. ***Parents please read letter below***
