SYS will be hosting our 11th annual Kicks for Charity Tournament on Saturday June 18th from 10:30am-1:00pm at Sutton High School.
With your support, this event featuring our U4, U6 and U8 players raises funds to support members of the Sutton community. This year we are raising money in honor of Jacob Westbury to be donated to the Claudia Simonian Fund in his name as a recognition of and remembrance of his life.
Jacob, son of David Westbury, a longtime volunteer for Sutton Youth Soccer and many other local organizations, was seventeen years old when he lost his life in a tragic car accident. He attended Sutton schools and was a senior in the construction technology program at BVT High School and was very active in our community. Through the Claudia Simonian Fund, scholarships are awarded annually to graduating Sutton High School seniors with a demonstrated financial need for the purposes of higher education. Special considerations are given to students who have received special education services, lost a parent, and/or been affected by cancer or divorce.
As in past years, we are encouraging the players and families of the leagues participating in the event to help raise money for the event by collecting donations. Donations are also encouraged and accepted for this worthy cause from all SYS members, past and present.
This year’s event will feature
- 3v3 Games for Participating Teams
- Food, Snacks and Drinks for sale
- Raffle Items for adults and children
- Other fun activities for kids of all ages
- Sutton High School Soccer Players Community Service Project
Please help us make this 11th year another fun and successful event by donating directly, helping collect donations or simply by attending the event and having some fun with us.
